We planted the shovel flag and the Faithful gathered in the Gloom for the Sunday SixShooter.
Slightly less than 6 miles beginning at AG, through Myers Park including part of the Booty Loop, returning to AG. The Pax was strong, with Dredd and Red Warrior leading the way and finishing at approximately 45:00 minutes, (7:45/mile). Remaining Pax followed at various times, with final group in at approximately 49:00 minutes, (8:23/mile).
Naked Man Moleskin:
– 10,000 Candle Watts. Dark Warrior emerged from the Gloom just prior to the start of the SixShooter, donning what appeared to be a new ballcap with twin LED headlights. While the primary purpose of such gear is to keep DW out of the spokes and grills of early morning bikers, paperboys, and church goers, the Pax took note that the gear’s apparent secondary purpose is to serve as a collection device for budding Entomologist. McNugget volunteered to bring a net next week to capture the gathering moths and other insects surrounding DW’s headgear, and donate them to AG’s science department. Maybe Silence can show up with the formaldehyde?
– 1,000 horsepower. Red Warrior charged in the waning mile of the Shooter, moving from somewhere in the mid-Pax to lead. Like American muscle cars, you hear Red Warrior long before you see him, and if he’s passing you, you don’t see him for long. He’s more like a Birmingham-steel forged 1000 horsepower twin turbo V10 engine found in a Dodge Barracuda than a carbon fiber Lamborghini Murcielago SV. Which is a good thing.
Thought of the Day:
“Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.” — C.S. Lewis
